Situated in the centre of Hayle, with its renowned 3 miles of golden sands, Matthews & Company was established in 1990 by Mike Matthews.
Mike was born and bred in the area and has the benefit of over 40 years of local knowledge and many years of experience in the Estate Agency business. Sandra is the secretary and is the centre of operations - she prefers to be known as "the boss"!! She has worked with mike since the business was opened and is always keen to assist. Derek is the final member of the team and is our Independent Mortgage Broker, with access to virtually all of the lending sources available. He is also involved in the Estate Agency side of the business, against his will! (he enjoys it really). We are a small team, striving to assist wherever possible, and very proud of our Independent status.
Hayle is a small town, steeped in history. The main shopping areas of Penzance and Truro are within easy reach. Major development is currently in the hands of the local Planning Department and, once agreed, will enable Hayle to flourish once again and establish itself as a thriving fishing port. The centrepoint of the new harbour complex will be a new hotel, retail outlets, including a major Superstore, and new homes ranging from starter homes to the more prestigious. A sailing club with leisure facilities and a full leisure complex are also on the plans. It is felt, locally, that the new development will bring Hayle into the 21st century without taking away it's natural charm.
