Internet website Homes-On-Line has become the first UK property
portal to offer a free valuation service to potential home sellers
after linking with national estate agency relocation and referral
group Partners In Property, Britain's fastest growing network
of independent estate agents.
The
joint initiative means that Homes-On-Line - the only privately
owned property portal website of any size in the UK - can draw
on a network of more than 2,000 member and associated estate
agents throughout the UK to carry out valuations for visitors
the site, which can be found at www.homes-on-line.com.
Homes-On-Line
Managing Director Guy Baker, who launched the site in 1996,
said the service should be particularly appealing to the 73,000
homeowners and prospective purchasers who subscribe to the site's
regular monthly electronic newsletter.
He
said: "These are people who are actively thinking about
moving home and the facility to request a free valuation whilst
they are on-line could make the difference between them thinking
about moving home and actually putting their property onto the
market.
"The
Homes-On-Line site receives nearly a quarter of a million unique
visits every month from people who are looking at properties
for sale. Offering the free service should help them to decide
on a realistic asking price for their property and give them
a better idea of what they can afford to buy," he added.
Robin
King, Director of Partners in Property which has nearly 550
member said: "We were attracted to Homes-On-Line because
their independence means there would be no conflict of interest
in terms of third-party sales. We were also impressed by their
track record as a long-term player in estate agency Internet
services who have consistently been one of the better providers
of Internet content over several years."
He
added: "The benefit to visitors to the Homes-On-Line web
site is that they will be dealing with estate agents who will
ensure the right people are talking to the right people at the
right time. All members of the PIP network are monitored on
an ongoing basis to ensure they provide the right level of customer
service, and this will be reflected in the service received
by visitors to the Homes-On-Line site."
· In a further development which should help Homes-On-Line
consolidate its position as one of the UK's leading independent
property websites, the company has reached agreement with
0800 4 Homes.com and Numberone4property.co.uk
to exchange website content. The deal will expose properties
on the Homes-On-Line site to an even wider audience.
Guy
Baker said: "We are now the only property portal which
supplies its client website content to other estate agency websites
with which our members agents have marketing agreements. This
'technology partnership' offers effective marketing of our members'
properties by sharing details with other estate agency sites
and most of the UK's other leading property portals."
