On-line link-up offers 'difficult' mortgages

Property portal website Homes-On-Line has linked with one of the UK's leading providers of non-conforming mortgages to enable the self-employed and those with a poor credit history to obtain the necessary finances to purchase their next home.

Bournemouth-based Jim White's Mortgage Solutions, which last month was nominated 'Best Mortgage Broker (Non-Conforming) in the Mortgage Strategy Awards 2002, specialises in sourcing mortgages for the self-employed and the estimated 10 per cent of homebuyers who have been turned down for home finance by traditional High Street lenders.

Homes-On-Line Managing Director Guy Baker said: "By linking with Jim White we will be able to offer estate agents and members of the public a respected and recognised mortgage finding service which specialises in obtaining finances for difficult cases - particularly for those clients with County Court Judgements against them or people who have been declared bankrupt.

"This will give estate agents' own in-house mortgage advisers another string to their bow when selling homes to the self-employed or those who may be having difficulty finding a mortgage and will offer home buyers who visit our website and are interested in a property for sale a possible source of financing for their purchase."

Stressing that specialist mortgages don't have to be expensive, Jim White said: "Now that mortgage rates have come down there has been very much a narrowing of the gap between what large High Street mortgage lenders charge for their products and that which our mortgage lenders charge. Indeed, we can offer rates from as low as 4.6 per cent for a discounted variable rate mortgage."

Through the new link, the Homes-On-Line website at www.homes-on-line.com will also offer homebuyers advice on a wide range of mortgage issues including how to avoid getting a bad credit rating, how to avoid difficulties with lenders, what to do if financial problems arise and issues such as how to deal with potential repossession, divorce or facing the bailiffs.

Guy Baker said: "Whilst the whole area of dealing with financial and mortgage problems is something most people do not like to talk about, Jim White's Mortgage Solutions is recognised as being an ethical, friendly, professional and reassuring company which is amongst the best at providing mortgages for people who do not fit in to the market traditionally served by High Street lenders. We hope this new link will enable people who may otherwise be refused financing the possibility of owning their own home."
